I feel sLOVEnia ❤

I can't believe its been already 5 years since I had been in Slovenia. In 2008, I have lived in Ljubljana (capital of Slovenia) for 5 months thanks to Erasmus Exchange Program. Those 5 months was truly amazing. I drew this painting below last November from a postcard of Ljubljana. I used both watercolor and colored pens. Ljubljana is a very beautiful city and I have really awesome memories about this city. I have met wonderful people, travelled a lot, and obviously partied a lot. And I studied a little bit :)) Ljubljana is like a city from the fairy tales with it's lovely Ljubljanica river running through the middle of the town, the Triple bridge, the Dragon bridge, and the Ljubljana castle on top of the Castle hill. The city itself is made of many old buildings with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architectural elements which I really like!

The symbol of the city is the Ljubljana Dragon. It is depicted on the top of the tower of the Ljubljana Castle in the Ljubljana coat-of-arms and on the Ljubljanica-crossing Dragon Bridge. It symbolises power, courage, and greatness. There is a legend about this Dragon bridge. The legend is that Jason was the founder of Ljubljana, and he and his Argonauts killed a dragon. This is one of the four dragon statues on the bridge. According to local legends, when a virgin crosses the bridge, the dragons will wag their tails. Some local people have nicknamed this structure "mother-in-law" because of its fiery nature.

Na Zdravje!! :)

Dalí Theatre-Museum

The Dalí Theatre and Museum, is a museum of the artist Salvador Dalí in his home town of Figueres, in Catalonia, Spain. I had the chance to visit this museum few years ago. This museum is one of a kind, it is very strange. :)) So here, I wanted to share the pictures I took at the museum. The Dalí Theatre-Museum, the largest surrealistic object in the world, occupies the building of the former Municipal Theatre, a 19th century construction which was destroyed at the end of the Spanish Civil War. On its ruins, Dalí decided to create his museum.

Princes et Princesses

I drew this illustration with pencil in 2010. I was inspired by the French animation Princes et Princesesses, written and directed by Michel OcelotSix old-style funny silhouetted fairy tales for not so-old-style people. Happy Valentine's Day!!

Trees

I drew these trees in my drawing course at Wayzata High School in 2004. I was experimenting with different pen drawing techniques. Actually I don't like the leaves in this drawing. It could have been better with many separate pieces of leaves instead of big groups of leaves. But I guess I was too lazy to draw leaves one by one at that time. :))
