Last Friday evening, I went to Buena Vista Social Club concert with my
friend Pelin. We were so excited about this concert.. and we had an amazing
evening thanks to Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club. Every member of the band
was extremely full of energy, fun and talented.. It was pure good latin music
(traditional Cuban music). I had heard their songs but I didn't know about the
band till my sister introduced them to me, while we were having breakfast on a
Sunday morning and listening to their music.
Sadly, several of the group’s aging stars are no longer with the band.
But the timeless, magical music that created the Buena Vista legend lives
on. Currently the band is called Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club and it
has 13 members.
As soon as I heard that they were having a Worldwide Adios Tour,
including concerts in Ankara and Istanbul, I tried to find a friend to see the
concert together. Pelin is also a very big fan of the group so we bought the
tickets then started to wait for the big day! :)
The Concert hall (Black Box Istanbul) was also a really nice hall. It
was larger than I had imagined. Even though our seats were not in the perfect
location, we enjoyed their music show a lot. I want to share some photos and
videos here..
